Our research strengths include biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology and immunology, and physiology.

While each of these disciplines is taught independently, the natural overlaps between them allow students and researchers to develop a broad understanding of how our bodies work and how we can make them healthier.

The teaching and research in our School is leading the world. At the Marshall Centre, for example, we are building the capacity to perform world-class infectious diseases research and disease surveillance, including the development of new vaccines and diagnostic technologies for Helicobacter pylori and other pathogens.
